Join us as we celebrate Mother Krista’s installation as Rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and also honor the beginning of Lent at our Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper is a tradition that has been around for many years. It is based on the ancient shriving tradition where Christians would confess their sins and receive absolution prior to the start of Lent. Lent is a time of abstinence, so in preparation for this period of time, people used up all their "fat" and goodies in order to prepare for the Lenten season. This is where the term "Fat Tuesday" comes from and eating pancakes is a meal that will incorporate all those fatty foods of eggs, butter, milk and, of course, syrup.
