St. Luke's Community Childcare

Grand Reopening Fall 2024

September 2024 — St Luke’s has educated thousands of preschool students in our phenomenal preschool. In fall of 2024 we are expanding by opening a full service all-day daycare for babies, toddlers and preschoolers! We provide care for infants (6+ weeks old- 18 months), toddlers (12-36 months) and preschoolers (3-7 years.) About St. Luke’s Community Childcare

St. Luke’s Community Childcare is a ministry of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. At St. Luke’s we believe in the inherent goodness and dignity of all people. We also believe that children are intelligent from birth. That is reflected in the way we educate children in our St. Luke’s Community Childcare program. At St. Luke’s, children develop a lifelong love of learning through child led, play based curriculum.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is inspired by the play based Reggio Emilia approach to education from Italy. The curriculum is child led, developed from the interests of the children. For example, if they’re pretending to be astronauts, our teachers develop curriculum that is connected to that interest. They might study the letter S for space. They might measure the length of the space station in our hallway, thereby learning numbers and so on. The learning comes from their play and their interests. This way of educating ensures that children learn everything they need for elementary school and love what they learn along the way.

Faith and St. Luke’s Community Childcare All are welcome

All children are welcome at St. Luke’s Community Childcare. A big part of the Episcopal Church tradition is promising to respect the dignity of every human being. That means respecting people of all or no faith tradition.  On occasion children will be welcomed into the St. Luke’s Wonder Chapel. The Wonder Chapel is a space for children where they experience play with light tables, black lights  and art materials. Many faith traditions (including ours) believe that wonder is an experience of the Holy. We hope that the children experience Wonder in the Wonder Chapel. The children will also learn about major Christian holidays such as Christmas and Easter. If your family celebrates holidays from other faith traditions we encourage you to bring them to St. Luke’s too!

St. Luke's Childcare Center

  • As a church, we have decided to serve more families with a full-time daycare center and expand the professionally staffed, state-licensed outreach of the church that has been serving families in the Fort Collins area for over 40 years.

  • St. Luke’s is committed to a high-quality care in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. We have play-based curriculum, incorporating arts, music, dramatic play in our classrooms and natural outdoor play spaces.

  • We offer Reggio Emilia curriculum, a child-directed, hands-on approach where children learn and develop by exploring their own interests.

  • We foster a joy for learning while respecting each child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth and development.

  • St. Luke's Childcare Center will be open Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:30pm year round.

St. Luke’s Statement of Inclusion:

  • Although St. Luke’s is a religious institution, a family’s religious affiliation is not required or relevant.

  • We recognize that there are differences among us, but we believe that we can love alike, even though we may not think alike.
