Be sure to mark your calendars for October 20th, 2019. This date marks the return of the St. Luke's celebration of Beer, Bach and Brats. We have a very special addition to our festivities this year: The world-famous Ensemble Heinavanke will be flying all the way from the country of Estonia to share their talents with our church. This exquisite 7-person vocal ensemble will join the St. Luke's Parish Choir in performing a Bach cantata during the sermon time of the 10:30 service. They will also share their unique sound as the Offertory. http://heinavanker.ee
After the Service we will have an Octoberfest style lunch of beer, brats and a polka band.
Be sure to return to St. Luke's that evening at 7:00pm to hear an exciting variety of ancient church music as well as traditional music from Estonia and the surrounding native region. This is native music from people steeped in the culture and tradition in which the music was written, that we as Americans, don't often get to experience.
The Ensemble Heinavanker concert admission will be free. However, it is our hope that a free will offering will help supplement the cost of this leg of their American tour.
We ask that folks at St. Luke's will step up and sign up to serve as volunteers. Please contact Donna Visocky if you would like to help set up, serve, and clean up during the Beer, and Brats BBQ. Additional help is needed that evening to provide an after-concert reception, as well as a few volunteers to open up their homes to host some of the Ensemble Heinavanker members.
