What is cooler than a group of great singers harmonizing with only their voices? A new professional A cappella choral group, FoCo Chorale, invites you to find out. Besides being captivating — vocal groups with no instrumental accompaniment pulling off a massive sound — A cappella is both endearingly historical and timely.
FoCo Chorale, the first fully professional A cappella choir in Fort Collins, is a premiere ensemble comprised of professional singers from across the Front Range. The brainchild of St. Luke's Music Director Andrew Hill, the choir will feature A cappella choral music primarily focusing on contemporary styles and composers and music not performed by other groups in the community. Be prepared for a wide variety of styles, including works from composers you didn't know you wanted to hear.
The concert program will be an exciting and varied program entitled War & Peace. This powerful set will be sure to challenge, move and inspire. Works will include pieces by John Tavener, Rene Clausen, Daniel Elder, and 3 premiere compositions from our very own resident director, Andrew Hill.
The FoCo Chorale concert will be held right here at St. Luke's Episcopal Church at 7pm on April 28th.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and $5 for children. Tickets are available in advance at www.focochorale.org or with cash or check at the door.
As you are probably aware, the music budget has been among the ministries that was drastically cut. Andrew has decided to remain as the St. Luke's music director despite taking a %60 pay reduction, and he remains committed to maintaining the highest quality of music possible. Attending this concert is a great way to support Andrew Hill as he starts his professional choir. Not only that, he has hired many former St. Luke's staff singers to sing in the FoCo Chorale. This means you also support local musicians, and local chorale music. Finally, supporting the FoCo Chorale will continue to ensure St. Luke's reputation as a leader and classical music within the Fort Collins community.
