St. Luke’s discernment process continues, regarding how our St. Luke’s Christian community can welcome those who identify as gay, lesbian, or other gender/sexual orientations. This is an exciting time for St. Luke’s, with an opportunity to reach out to those in the LGBTQ community seeking a place to worship through transcendent liturgy and music.
The schedule is listed here; please plan on attending as many as you can, as discernment requires congregant participation:
- [October 9: Opening this Sacred Conversation with Covenant and Reflection, led by Jana Parker]
- [November 10: The History of Same-Sex Relationships in the Episcopal Church, led by Corinne Wieben]
- [December 4, 9:30 am, Parish Hall: Reflection on Scripture in the Episcopal Church, led by Dina Grimmett]
- THURS JAN 12, 7:00 pm, Library: GUEST SPEAKERS Howard and Randi Robinson, “Sharing our Story,” introduced by Ed Gregori
Randi and Howard will share their inspiring journey following their son's coming out as a gay man and how this deepened their understanding of scripture and transformed their Christian faith.
Other activities, reflections, and training opportunities are being considered, and we welcome congregant leadership for these! If you are interested in helping with this Believe Out Loud process, please contact Nicole Vieira or Ed Gregori.
Keep St. Luke’s ever in your prayers, as we enter into this sacred time of discernment!
