Music Director Andrew Jered Hill
Andrew was born in Memphis, TN in 1986. He spent his childhood living in various States in the Southeast.
When he was 11, Andrew join his family in traveling to Papua New Guinea to begin missions work with Wycliffe Bible Translators. It was in PNG when he began his formal studies in music by learning to play the flute. However, in high school, Andrew fell in love with choral singing.
During college, Andrew sang regularly as a staff singer and/or section leader for various churches of differing denominations, as well as Eternal Word Television Network’s biweekly internationally broadcasted Masses. He received a Bachelors in Music Theory and Composition from Concordia College in Moorhead MN, where he had the great privilege of performing in the Concordia Choir under the baton on the world famous conductor and composer René Clausen.
Andrew came to St. Luke's as a staff singer in the Fall of 2013 while doing his masters studies in Choral Conducting at Colorado State University. After filling in as the Interim Music Director for a year, Andrew was officially brought on Director of Music in the Summer of 2015.
Andrew’s compositions, of varying idioms and styles, are frequently performed during St. Luke’s many weekly services.
He has one cat, named after a piece by Arvo Pärt.
