Director of Children and Youth Ministries

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Fort Collins, Colorado is seeking a Director of Children and Youth Ministries. 


  • This position requires 15-20 hours per week (approximately 4 hours on Sundays, other hours divided during the week).

  • Regular office hours must be kept

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Growing the programs’ attendance and participation.

  • Manage the budget for the program

  • Organizing the Sunday School program with regard to curriculum and activities, recruiting volunteer Sunday School teachers, and filling in where necessary. 

  • Planning and organizing events for Children and Youth throughout the year, including but not limited to VBS and a Youth mission trip.

  • Lead, plan, and coordinate a Youth group for middle school aged children

  • Other events/activities as directed by the Rector.

The ideal candidate has:

  • A genuine love for children and youth and brings an energy, passion and enthusiasm to their ministry.

  • An ability to soundly teach God’s Word in an inspiring and relational manner that connects with kids.

  • An undergraduate degree is preferred but 2-3 years of youth ministry experience acceptable.

  • Exemplifies sound discretion and confidentiality in decision making and interpersonal interactions.

  • Broad knowledge of adolescent development and needs.

  • Basic organizational skills and forward thinking in terms of planning and scheduling.

  • Basic computer skills and comfortable operating various software programs (Google, MS Word, etc.)

  • Supportive of the structure and leadership of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

  • Passionate about seeing others succeed.

  • Strives for excellence in all work duties.

  • Be self-motivated.

This position reports to the Rector of the church. All employees are subject to a background check and must complete the Episcopal Church’s Safeguarding God’s Children program.
