NOTE: Postponed to 1/28 due to storm warning.
This Sunday, January 21, the faith community of St. Luke's will come together for our 2018 annual gathering.
There will be one Holy Communion service at 9:00am and then we will move into the Parish Hall for the annual meeting.
Here we will elect our new Vestry members, review and discuss the budget for 2018, and have conversations around how we can best realize God's purpose for St. Luke's given significant reductions in our financial resources.
Ann Fleming, the Missioner for Transition Ministry & Congregational Development for the Diocese of Colorado, will be with us to facilitate and guide that conversation. Ann will also be our preacher at the 9:00am worship service.
If you haven't done so already, please let us know what you will be bringing to the potluck. We particularly need to know if you have kids coming and how many, in order to plan activities for them with adequate adult supervision:
RSVP here (or call the office by Thursday 1/18 at 2pm, if you prefer).
Here is a prayer, which the Vestry has found to be quite helpful. It comes from the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Dallas, Texas:
Save us, O Lord, as a parish,
from being inward-looking and backward-looking
in the work of the church.
Help us to take our eyes off ourselves
and turn them on the world around us:
to be concerned less with what we have accomplished
or where we have failed
and more with what remains to be done:
that with our vision enlarged and our love rekindled,
we may go forward
to attempt new and greater things to your glory,
in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
