It was the late, great baseball player, Yogi Berra, who once said, "I don't want to get the right answer to the wrong question!"
In my 25 years of ordained parish ministry, observing the controversies that have racked the Church--and the Episcopal Church in particular--I see time and time again, people fighting over the wrong question.
On Sunday, September 17 at 9:30am in the Library, I will lead a conversational study of what the Biblical writers actually said about same-sex relationships and marriage. This will include a close reading of specific Bible passages. We'll also have the opportunity to discover and ask the right question about gay marriage.
This class is part of our ongoing Believe Out Loud discernment process, which began at St. Luke's on October 9, 2016. Full information on the St. Luke's process is available here. The Believe Out Loud information for the national Episcopal church can be found here.
