What is Christian love?
This crucial question is raised every time two people commit themselves to each other in the covenant of marriage.
As part of our Believe Out Loud process, the Rector will lead a class on The Celebration and Blessing of a Marriage.
Here we will engage in a close reading of both the traditional wedding rite in the Book of Common Prayer and the new wedding rite designed for same-sex couples provided by the Episcopal Standing Liturgical Commission of Liturgy and Music titled "The Witnessing and Blessing of a Marriage." Interestingly, increasing numbers of opposite-sex couples are asking for this new liturgy.
These profound wedding liturgies will provide us with an opportunity to deepen our theological and sacramental understanding of marriage and Christian love.
This class will take place on Sunday, June 25 at 11:00am in the Library. Please let us know you plan attend so we can have enough materials ready.
