Celebrating the Gift of Faith in Baptism

We will next celebrate baptisms at St. Luke’s on the Feast of Pentecost, Sunday, June 4. People of all ages are welcome to be baptized.

Holy Baptism is the sacrament by which God adopts us as his children and makes us members of Christ’s Body, the Church, and participants Christ’s community. Through Baptism we celebrate new life in Christ and are knit together in a community of faith.

If you have a child you wish to present for Baptism, the expectation is that at least one parent has been baptized. We hope parent(s) will become full participant(s) at St. Luke’s. Contact the Associate Rector to set up meetings for baptismal preparation. Adults who wish to be baptized will complete baptismal preparation with one of the Rectors.

At St. Luke’s, baptism is celebrated several times each year: on the Day of Pentecost (June 4, 2017*), on All Saint's Day or the Sunday following (November 5, 2017), on the Feast of the Baptism of our Lord (the First Sunday after the Epiphany -- January 7, 2018), and the Easter Vigil (March 21, 2018).

We pray for all who are seeking and preparing for baptism during this inspiring season of Easter.

Each week the Rector or the Associate Rector will focus on how God is continuing to call St. Luke's into new life in Christ.
