Easter is often seen as the most important day in the Christian year. But for Easter to really make a difference in our spiritual life, it must be approached via Holy Week.
The two key days that provide the sacred path to Easter are Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. On Maundy Thursday Jesus gives us his final teaching. With Good Friday Jesus enacts the profundity of God's love for humanity.
St. Paul writes "For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that the old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin" (Romans 6:5-6).
