Many LGBTQIA* people in Fort Collins are spiritually searching. They long for a welcoming community in which they are affirmed as fellow children of God. Just like all of us, they want to deepen their experience of God and discover God's divine purpose for their life.
The Episcopal Church nationwide invites congregations to become intentional about welcoming those who all too often are excluded and maligned. This ministry of intentionality is called Believe Out Loud.
In the spring of 2016, the St. Luke's Vestry and Clergy launched a processes of discernment to determine if St. Luke's was ready to commit to this Believe Out Loud ministry. At the Vestry meeting this week, Ed Gregori presented a report and proposed a welcoming statement. The response of the entire Vestry was enthusiastic. The Vestry will meeting again on Monday, May 8 to vote to become a Believe Out Loud Church and adopt the welcoming statement.
We invite your prayers during this inspiring time for our St. Luke's community. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any Vestry member.
This is the beginning of new ways of learning and growing together in Christ!
